BOWLS, BREWS & BRILLIANT CONNECTIONS – A Winning Day of Networking

After the resounding success of last year’s Bowls & Beer networking event, expectations were high and the 6th of March 2026 certainly did not disappoint.
What has quickly become a highlight on the local business networking calendar once again brought together professionals, entrepreneurs, and friends for a day filled with connection, laughter, and a touch of friendly competition.

While the weather initially threatened to dampen spirits, with grey skies looming in the early hours, it seems the event had a little luck on its side. The clouds held back just long enough, delivering a perfectly pleasant day for outdoor fun.
Almost as if on cue, the rain only began once the final rounds had been played – proof, perhaps, that this event was simply meant to shine.
One of the most encouraging signs of the event’s success was the number of returning attendees. Familiar faces from last year’s gathering were a testament to the impact and enjoyment of the inaugural event. At the same time, a wave of new participants joined in, bringing fresh energy to the greens. Among them were a few seasoned lawn bowlers who added a competitive edge to the day, keeping teams on their toes and adding to the overall excitement.

Of course, Bowls & Beer is about more than just sport. True to its name, the refreshments flowed generously throughout the day, with beer and cooldrinks keeping everyone refreshed as conversations and connections unfolded naturally. The relaxed setting created the perfect environment for genuine networking, where business discussions blended seamlessly with laughter and light-hearted banter. The variety of businesses that showcased on the day also contributed to the vibrant atmosphere. Each exhibitor brought their unique flair, going the extra mile to engage with attendees and make meaningful connections. From innovative services to familiar local brands, the diversity on display highlighted the strength and creativity within the automotive industry.

A standout feature of the event was undoubtedly the photobooth experience by Moments2Media. Capturing the spirit of the day in real time, the setup became a hub of activity, with teams lining up to snap fun, memorable photos. The energy was infectious, with laughter echoing as colleagues and new acquaintances alike embraced the opportunity to let loose and create lasting memories.

Beyond the fun and networking, the event carried a deeper purpose. This year’s initiative was dedicated to raising funds for The Lucky Lucy Foundation, an organisation committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals in need. Thanks to the incredible generosity of attendees and supporters, an impressive R7,500 was raised to support the foundation’s ongoing work.

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the giving didn’t stop there.
During the prize-giving, several winners chose to donate their prizes, sparking an impromptu auction that raised even more funds for the cause. It was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together with a shared purpose. From the friendly competition on the greens to the delicious two-course meal and the constant buzz of conversation, the 2026 Bowls & Beer event delivered on every level.

With such a strong foundation and growing support, there’s no doubt that next year’s event will be even bigger, better, and more impactful. March 2027 can’t come soon enough. With limited entries available and growing demand each year, businesses are encouraged to start getting their teams together early for March 2027 – because this is one networking event you don’t want to miss out on.
