Cape Wheelfest Debuts with a Show-Stopping Weekend of Wheels

The weekend of 26th and 27th July 2025 saw Cape Town’s motoring enthusiasts head out on the N7, just outside of Philadelphia, to De Werf Farmstall – the scenic venue that played host to the very first Cape Wheelfest, brought to us by KOOX Events.

The debut event delivered an unforgettable showcase of style, innovation, and horsepower, setting a new standard for automotive exhibitions in the region.

From the moment attendees arrived, the energy was electric. Cape Wheelfest was designed to do more than just display vehicles – it aimed to immerse visitors in the lifestyle and excitement that comes with motoring culture.

The event brought together an impressive lineup of dealerships, with big-name brands like VW, GWM, GAC, OMODA, BYD, Jetour, and JAC all rolling out their latest models.

For many visitors, it was a rare opportunity to see such a wide variety of vehicles in one place, ranging from practical daily drives to sleek new releases that hint at the future of motoring.  The combination of familiar favourites and innovative newcomers gave the festival its unique edge. Established brands like Volkswagen drew in loyal fans eager to check out their latest updates, while newer players such as OMODA, Jetour, and BYD turned heads with cutting-edge designs and modern features that showed just how diverse the South African automotive market has become.

Behind the smooth running of the weekend was event organiser Leon Kapp, whose vision and experience ensured that Cape Wheelfest hit all the right notes. From carefully curated displays to the welcoming atmosphere, every detail reflected the passion and professionalism of the KOOX Events team.

Attendees were treated to more than just cars – there was an air of celebration, with the event balancing sophistication and fun in a way that appealed to families, car fanatics, and casual visitors alike.

What truly set the debut apart was the sense of community it created. People weren’t just browsing vehicles; they were connecting over shared interests, learning about new technologies, and soaking up the lifestyle that surrounds the automotive world. The venue itself added to the experience, with the charm of De Werf Farmstall giving the event a relaxed yet polished feel – the perfect backdrop for a motoring showcase.

By the end of the weekend, it was clear that Cape Wheelfest had made its mark. For a first edition, the turnout and response were exceptional, and it set the stage for bigger, better, and even more dynamic events to come. The success proved that Cape Town has a real appetite for well-organised automotive showcases – and KOOX Events is ready to deliver.

As Leon Kapp and his team gear up for future editions, motoring fans should keep a close eye on their social media platforms. With such a strong debut, there’s no doubt that Cape Wheelfest is on track to become a flagship event on the Western Cape’s automotive calendar.
