Coffee & Cars SA – Elevating the auto show market in the Western Cape

The Coffee & Cars, Things of Beauty Show, took place at The Woodmill in Stellenbosch on April 21, 2024. It was a gathering of automotive enthusiasts from all over the Western Cape, showcasing an incredible array of vehicles that ranged from vintage classics to modern marvels, including motorcycles and supercars.

The mastermind behind this event is Anton Fourie, who was inspired during his visit to Houston, Texas, where he witnessed the grandeur of vehicle shows. Recognizing the immense interest in cars and the desire to exhibit them, Anton decided to bring the same concept to South Africa which has proven to be extremely popular.

The day of the show was an absolute triumph, with car and bike enthusiasts eagerly flocking through the gates, eagerly anticipating the display of automotive excellence. In addition to the stunning vehicles, attendees were treated to delicious coffee, food, and beverages, as well as captivating music, dance performances, and even self-defense demonstrations. The event also featured exhibitors and automotive vendors, adding to the overall excitement.

Anton, affectionately known as the Ring Master of the shows, personally welcomed each and every person at the entrance gates, his energy and vibrant personality adding to the upbeat vibe of the day . As you walked through the rustic venue, you could feel the electrifying energy in the air, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

Besides being an automotive showcase, the event raises funds for community charities, Conquerors Wheelchair Basketball and Dr GJ Joubert Primary School Drum Majorettes, both very worthy causes that benefit from the publics attendance at these events.

To pinpoint the division that drew the most attention would be difficult as the classics, exotics and the dealerships with the newest models on the market were all show stoppers and all the categories pulled out all the stops with their displays.

One of the key features of the Coffee & Cars show is the opportunity for private vehicle owners to display their cars free of charge. However, due to limited space at the venue, participants must register with the organizers in advance to secure a spot for their vehicle. This has allowed for a diverse array of cars to be on display, showcasing the passion and dedication of car owners who take pride in their vehicles.

Anton has committed to arranging 3 shows per year, first being the Coffee & Cars show, second being the Girl Power show at Simonsvlei which is a display of vehicles owned, driven and restored by women and then lastly the Festival of the Machines show.
