The new look premises of City Paint & Abrasives Brackenfell is nothing short of inspiring. Under the leadership of Gavin Kinnear, their revamped retail store opened its doors in July 2022.
In their new retail store, all their product ranges are displayed and clients can walk around at their leisure and gather what they need for all their vehicle and industrial repairs.
Qualified staff are present on the shop floor to assist customers with queries and technical support. This helps to create trust and build future relationships with clients. This new concept has proven a great success and the walk-in trade is already up along with other great growth across the board. Colour matching services are available for automotive and industrial clients.
City Paint & Abrasives have two stores in Cape Town – Brackenfell and Maitland. These two branches service the Western Cape, from Southern Suburbs up to the West Coast and Worcester. Courier services can be arranged for areas outside of this vicinity. City Paint & Abrasives are looking to open an online store and plans are underway for the launch of a third store.
A wide variety of paint brands are available under their roof to service a vast array of industries, from regular body shops to industrial clients and walk-in DIY needs.
City Paint & Abrasives stock PPG’s Max Meyer, Nexa and Selemix ranges as well as Luxor Paints Transline and Xcela ranges. Polishing systems include Glissen and Concept 23. Available abrasives are Sunmight, Klingspor, Smirdex and the Indasa range with a wide range of ancillaries such as Finixa, U-Pol and Duram. A variety of spray guns to suit every budget and job requirement come in the form of Walcom, Italco, AirCraft and Aurita to give clients a wide choice.
Gavin Kinnear, owner of City Paint & Abrasives, has a long pedigree in the refinish trade and is a fourth generation spray painter himself. He worked for Orbit Coachworks for 10 years where he qualified as a spray painter alongside his father, Ronnie Kinnear, who started the Paint Shop when Orbit Coachworks opened its doors. Ronnie was well known for his high standard of excellence that Orbit Coachworks was renowned for.
The family legacy lives on and the strive for perfection and customer service has always been their main focus. Gavin is passionate about his relationships with staff and clients and is grateful for his customers support for almost two decades. “My staff always go beyond the call of duty and I am blessed to work with my son Matthew, daughter Kayla, brother Andre and sister Karin.
