Franschhoek Classic Car Festival 2024 – A Sold Out Success!

The idyllic town of Franschhoek came alive with automotive magnificence on the weekend of the 5th and 6th October 2024 with the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival taking centre stage at the Franschhoek Motor Museum on the Saturday and the iconic Huguenot Monument on the Sunday.

The festival drew car enthusiasts and visitors from across the country to the picturesque town for a sold out weekend of motoring history and celebration.

The festival featured 270 invited and carefully selected cars all on curated displays across the 2 days.

Highlights of the festival included the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT 50th and Giulietta 70th Anniversary displays, the Ford Mustang 60th Anniversary display and the iconic Forty of the Finest display which featured 40 pre-1995 cars of various brands.

The RIVALS Tour Parade through Franschhoek’s main road drew enthusiastic crowds, celebrating the legendary racing rivalry between Alfa Romeo and Porsche in the 1950s.

The festival was a testament to the enduring appeal of classic cars, and a tribute to the passion and dedication of those who preserve and maintain these automotive treasures.

According to Theo Lotter, the festival’s founder and CEO, the 2024 event exceeded all expectations and the feedback from participants and visitors had been overwhelmingly positive – “We’re already looking forward to improving the experience for the 2025 event and we are determined to make the Franschhoek Classic Car Festival the premier car event in South Africa with international relevance”, he added.

The Franschhoek Classic Car Festival had once again proven itself to be a highlight on the motoring calendar, leaving all who attended already looking forward to next year’s event.
