The Tannery Car Show, held at the Old Tannery in Wellington on the 7th April 2024 was nothing short of spectacular.
With this being the second show, Mother Nature stepped in and brought with her a storm of note. Even with the Cape of Storms rearing its head, the attendance of the day showcased the commitment and absolute dedication of all the Western Cape petrol heads who came out in their hoards to support this event.
As you arrive at the show, you are welcomed into the Tannery’s motor museum and captivated by their awe-inspiring collection of classic automobiles, from vintage Ford Model T”s to a rare Le Mans Bentley, all restored back to their former glory by the owner, Tim Reddell.
Tim, a former race car driver and ex-chairman at Killarney Race Track, runs the Old Tannery venue along with his son, Clifford Reddell, with absolute precision with all the boxes being ticked for car enthusiasts to enjoy the day. “The retro-feel of the venue lends itself to the vibe of the show”, says Clifford Reddell.
With around 150 cars from vintage to modern supercars, there is something at the show for everyone.
The Classic Car Café on the premises serves great food and showcases a wonderland of vehicle memorabilia, a welcome break after exploring the show.
One of the key supporters of the show is Moto Village, a dealership that has been sourcing and selling collectable vehicles for nearly three decades. With their vast selection of cars for sale, Moto Village offers a unique opportunity for visitors to find their dream vehicle. With their expertise and experience, the team at Moto Village can guide enthusiasts through the process of securing their perfect car, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Another highlight of the show was the Cape Town Super Car Club, a group of passionate car enthusiasts who come together to share their love of collectable sports cars. With around 51 members from diverse backgrounds, the club organizes regular get-togethers, breakfast runs, events, and fundraisers. According to members Yats Gopaul and Daryl Meyer, the club is like a family, bringing together like-minded individuals who share a common passion for supercars.
Amongst the impressive array of exhibitors, Moto Village and Cape Town Super Car Club have supported the show since its inception bringing along with them impressive cars, pure eye candy for all.
